A fragment of 18th Century hand stitched verdure needlework made as a cushion covers.
Wonderfully muted, time-softened palette that only age can produce — mossy greens, lichen, faded ochres and tobacco browns — arranged in a dense woodland composition of scrolling foliage and stylised leaves.
The fragments showing typical signs of wear but now backed onto a linen stabilise the embroidery. Very useable and decorative.
Available individually or as a pair.
