Antique Silver-Plated Serving Tray by Collis & Co. circa 1860.
Stylish octagonal form with a crisply cast reeded edge and handles, mounted with acanthus leaf decoration. The surface also has traces of scrolling leaf decoration, since polished back with age.
Collis & Co. were a distinguished English silversmiths based at 130 Regent Street, London. Known for their exceptional craftsmanship during the 19th and early 20th centuries, Collis & Co. produced fine domestic silver and silver-plated wares of enduring quality.
Dimensions: H 3 cm x D 31 cm x W 54 cm (46cm W excluding handles)
Condition: Good original condition. Light scratching and pitting to the silver plate commensurate with age. Old engraved decoration on the surface has been softened with age.
