A brass framed wall mirror by Fontana Arte c. 1950.
The brass frame formed in a ribbon design fixing a rectangular mirror plate at four points.
A rare piece, the largest of three sizes produced by Fontana Arte.
Condition: In lovely original condition. The mirror plate is in good condition with minor signs of oxidisation. The brass has patinated to an antique finish. Can also be supplied polished for a brighter finish.

Known for elegant and innovative designs, the Milan-based firm Fontana Arte pioneered one of the key features of 20th-century and contemporary Italian design: the union of artistry and industry wrought by partnerships between creative talents - chiefly architects - and entrepreneurial businesses.
Fontana Arte is further distinguished by having had as artistic director, in succession, four of Italy's most inventive modernist designers: Giò Ponti, Pietro Chiesa, French transplant Max Ingrand and Gae Aulenti.
